THE JURY
THE JURY is Kendall and Bauerfeld's most recent original musical. In a rainy Seattle alleyway, Tess Butler dies of an opioid overdose. Now, seven people from her life are given a choice: intervene and bring her back, or let her be.
Locked in the jury room until a unanimous decision is reached, we learn the story of Tess through the jurors’ eyes. For each of them, Tess is someone different; the runaway daughter, the ex-wife who loved drugs more, the murderer. Each of them only knows part of the truth. This life-affirming new musical recently enjoyed a successful Equity showcase production at A.R.T New York's Gural Theater, produced by Theatre Now New York. Previously titled LIMBO: THE TWELVE, THE JURY premiered to 4 and 5 star reviews at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival fringe. In 2023, THE JURY was a top 20 finalist for NAMT Festival of New Musicals, a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill NMTC, and a finalist for the prestigious Richard Rogers Award. THE BOOK OF NAMES
Heralded as "a near perfect tear-jerker of a musical" during its premiere 2018 run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, THE BOOK OF NAMES is an original story following a group of immigrants as they pass through Ellis Island over one, 24 hour period. When anti-immigration riots in New York shut down all ferry traffic to the island, our group must stay longer than they bargained for. With its sweeping, classic sound, THE BOOK OF NAMES is a mosaic of stories of love, perseverance, and hope.
