BioJonathan Bauerfeld is a New York based musical theater composer, orchestrator, and music director. As a composer, Bauerfeld has been working with his collaborator Casey Kendall for more than 7 years. Their two shows, LIMBO: The Twelve, and LEGACY: The Book of Names premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018 and 2019 to 4 and 5 star reviews. Bauerfeld’s 10 minute musical with Talaura Harms was recently premiered at Soundbites 6.0 in Manhattan, and he is currently also developing an untitled project with lyricist Melissa Weisbach.
As an orchestrator, his work has been heard across New York and beyond, including Off-Broadway, NYMF, the Actors Fund Gala, The Green Room 42, and Symphony Space. He has worked with many of the top talents in the industry, including Alex Lacamoire, Christopher Jahnke, August Eriksmoen, and more. Bauerfeld has Music Directed Off-Broadway, at the New Victory Theater, and for Theaterworks USA tours. As a copyist, Bauerfeld's work can be seen on stands across the country, working for Anixter-Rice music service on several shows for Broadway, Radio City, and beyond. As a music assistant, Bauerfeld has worked for some of the most well-respected composers on Broadway, including Stephen Flaherty, Pasek and Paul, Andrew Lippa, Scott Frankel, and more.
